Those parishioners who assist the celebrant in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at all masses, requires that the person be fully initiated and be an active participating member of the parish and living a life in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
Candidates for this ministry are approved by the pastor, they attend a formal instruction session administered by the Diocese of Orlando. Additionally, parish instruction as to local customs and responsibilities and hands on practice is provided.
On-going support and education is provided for re-certification in this ministry by the parish and the diocese. Attendance at occasional meetings is required.

These special ministers of the Eucharist ensure that parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to illness or infirmity can receive Holy Communion. Special ministers are sent forth from the Mass to take Eucharist, scripture, and parish news to private homes, hospitals, hospices and assisted living homes located within parish boundaries. You must receive training and be a commissioned Eucharist Minister at STA.
